i wrote this a while ago. posted it before, but am posting it here now. i used to have a pic with it but DA no longer has it where you can have a pic with your poem. probably because so many people were saying "nice photo!" on people's poetry and not even realizing it was a poem posted and the pic was just a compliment to go along with it.
The fact is that we humans feel the desperate need for order and control in our lives, so we place these feelings into a god and teach children that prayer and adherence to the rules equals a safe life...similar to the way we tell them, 'work hard, never give up and you can do anything'. We like to think that doing things a certain way will garuntee happiness, longevity, health and anything else we want. This is not what god is. God does not watch and protect or reward the faithful while punishing the unfaithful. Early on in the bible god smiles on Abel but shuns Cane...for no other reason than that he chooses to. Newer versions of the bible put in that god was not pleased with Cane because he didn't give fully with a loving heart...but this is not the original. God of religeons is a creation of man...a hopeful man who wants to think he can make things happen to his liking. And so we grow up resenting the god who was promised to us, the one who protects our bodies from harm. The girl was not protected from the men...but perhaps she was protected from death. But in all honesty if I knew who these men were I'd grab a rifle and go a'huntin'

I personally think we should take all the world leaders, put them in a bull-pit and let them fight to the death. Then the rest of us can go party.

the girl grew up to learn a lot more than she probably would have without ever going through that experience. She is much wiser today because of everything. i hope to post a few followup essays (writte several years ago) i wrote about it.
i didnt report it
the reason why is written in the essay i wrote a few years back. sometime when i get a chance to find the disc i will post the essay (at least one of them, the other might be too graphic for DA admin to handle)
i dont want vengence, i have totally forgiven them (for my own well being -- me holding in anger towards them was doing nothing to them, but a whole hell of a lot to me -- so i forgave them, and learned to live in peace)
Sad to hear that it was you it happened to Odd, I find it easier to 'forgive' wrongs done to me than those done to other people. My sense of 'vengence' is probably also a lot different than what other people see as revenge. You may have learned someting important from that trauma, but the two losers learned nothing except that that they can do such things to other people. I would have 'learnt them a lesson' that would have them think twice before repeating the act. So, maybe they were abused like that as kids and don't know how to treat people. I feel for them...but it's still wrong to do it to someone else. Who knows, maybe they eventually learned an unkinder lesson than I would have taught them.

Why doesn't DA just make a seperate section for the graphic stuff and make you have to sign up for it seperately with all kinds of disclaimers and stuff?

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
